The landscape around the site is already rich and unique; preserving and complimenting this landscape is key to our approach. The area of designated Ancient Woodland to the south of the site will be extended and enhanced with natural play spaces and informal seating, while the derelict orchard will be recreated with a grid of fruit trees, long grasses and wildflowers. Clearings will be imbued with distinct characters, including a Village Green, natural play and rain gardens in a new ‘necklace’ of green spaces, creating a Green Link including public footpaths that connect through the site with Milford train station around 15 minutes walk away from the south boundary. Houses and flats also benefit from generous private gardens and balconies that offer an average of 315 sqm open space per dwelling.

Planning History

The site was subject to an Outline Approval developed by the HCA in partnership with Waverley Borough council. The approved design was been completed in line with the parameter plans with pre-application advice from Waverley through the process. The Reserved Matters Application was submitted in October 2013 with approval in March 2014.
