The hexagon grid is extended into the amenity areas to embed the scheme into the sloping site and to create spaces which have a degree of separation whilst appearing ‘whole’. This playful use of the grid allows for the serendipitous and natural placement of benches, trees and stepped planting, creating rich and dynamic spaces with a variety of uses for adults and ‘playable space’ for children.
