The Design Process
Granted planning approval through public inquiry in January 2016 having been refused planning permission by the local authority due to "œharmful massing". Planning research prior found that over 14 years 6 planning applications submitted with only one successful appeal, for 14 homes. Site is in a conservation area and close to listed buildings. Tallest building in the town is four storeys; our scheme achieved six. We worked with TVIA consultants were able to objectively demonstrate that any harm would be minor and mitigated by articulating the roof form.
