In addition to private gardens and balcony spaces for all dwellings, the development contains a wide range of outdoor public spaces. These include a number of small courtyards located at strategic points around the site. These intimate spaces provide landscaped seating areas for relaxing or interacting. A large central plaza forms the heart of the scheme. This space is surrounded by dwellings, commercial units and a cafe and provides a multi-use space which can be used for eating, meeting or organised events.

Planning History

The scheme was submitted for an outline planning application in Dec 2012. This application was approved by Bristol City Council (BCC) in Jan 2013 and determined the means of access and an illustrative masterplan layout. A reserved matters application was subsequently submitted in Sept 2013 which provided detailed information relating to the layout, scale and appearance of the scheme. Following BCC approval in May 2014 the project is close to completion.
