The Design Process

A previous planning application was submitted in 2012 for 8 houses on the tennis courts as enabling development for the refurbishment of the Bowls Clubhouse but was rejected on grounds that it contravening policy of no development on private open space. A fresh proposal was prepared for a residential scheme within the volume of the existing club house building and submitted in early 2015 but was rejected at committee despite being recommended for approval. An inspector upheld an appeal against this decision and granted consent in Jan 2017.
