The development forms the southwest corner of the Bromley-by-Bow South masterplan that formed the local SPD. Detailed planning consent was achieved at committee in January 2018, and a section 96A application was submitted in December 2018 following Guinness Development's purchase from Danescroft Land Ltd. The Quality Review Panel offered their unreserved support for the proposals, commending the architectural design as "outstanding". The London Borough of Tower Hamlets also supported the design. In addition to the affordable housing offer, the S106 contribution, signed in September 2018, includes £2.5 million towards the A12 junction works and the provision of affordable workspace within the proposals.
