Planning History

The Gatefold Building gained detailed planning permission in February 2012.

The Design Process

Our community consultation is ongoing, as the Gatefold Building is part of a much bigger picture, covering a larger site. The redevelopment of the former EMI records factory in Hayes - 'The Old Vinly Factory'.

We are currently engaged in a comprehensive consultation process, which includes key stakeholders, former and current employees (of EMI) and local residents as well as the wider public.

We have, to date, met with the Ward Councillors (Botwell Ward) and discussed the scheme, we also sent letters to local residents, to keep them informed about the Gatefold Building submission and give them contact details for any further information or comments they may have.

We've opened a canteen in The Shipping Building (part of the masterplan site). 'The Vinyl Centeen', for the staff who work there. This space also incorporates an exhibition space, which currently features the 'Picture This' exhibition, showing images of the development of the site over the last 100 years.

We've invested in branded bicycles for the staff to use to cycle into town in their lunch hours too...
