The Design Process

Proposals for the redevelopment of the site, a former convent, commenced around 2012 with the aim of taking the opportunity to repair and improve the townscape by delivering a high quality and high profile development close to Poole town centre, whilst delivering specialist accommodation for older persons. Following successful applications for building which included a 12 storey tower, the proposals were rationalised in 2014 resulting in a building predominantly 5 storeys in height with an 8 storey element creating a strong and attractive focal point. The articulation and detailing creating an interesting and attractive high quality building which also provides definition and a sense of arrival to what may be considered one of the entrances to the town centre.
